Los Alamos Cares celebrates 25 years of service to Los Alamos County residents who qualify for the food pantry and all residents in need of rent and utilities assistance. State Standing Up Missing And Murdered Indigenous Women Taskforce
Destinee Alexis AtencioThe FBI, Bureau of Indian Affairs and Tesuque Pueblo Tribal Police continue to investigate circumstances surrounding the death of Destinee Alexis Atencio whose body was found June 22 near the Camel Rock formation in Tesuque.
Atencio, 21, was last seen by a relative sometime in May in Santa Fe. Authorities believe she may have been dead for at least a couple of weeks before her body was found. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.

Senior Centers Host Presentation On The Five Wishes

The White Rock and Betty Ehart Senior Centers will each host a presentation on The Five Wishes.
The presentations, done in conjunction with Tim Rivera of Rivera Funeral Homes and Jenn Bartram of Final Wishes Known, will take place at each center.

Santa Fe Holds 3rd Annual Overdose Memorial Aug. 28

Recovery Santa Fe, the Friendship Club, Santa Fe Prevention Alliance, Berardinelli Family Funeral Service and Santa Fe Recovery Center will host the third annual memorial commemorating the 26 people who died from accidental drug overdoses during 2018.
The memorial is 4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Old Church Courtyard, 417 Agua Fria St. at the corner of Guadalupe and Agua Fria in Santa Fe.
The purpose of this memorial is to provide a space and time to gather and publicly acknowledge loss.

During a tour Wednesday with local officials and media, Andrea Sandoval of the Las Clinicas del Norte opens the door to the newly remodeled Health Commons, formally known as the Public Health Office at 1183 Diamond Dr., Ste.
