Leonard: Lack Confidence? Gain It Now By Embracing Life’s Struggles

By LAURA LEONARD
Doctor of Chiropractic
Los Alamos

I was suffering from writers block today and decided the best way to cure it was to go for a mountain bike ride. This led me to an ‘ah-ha’ moment as I decided to roll through a personally dreaded section of rocks, which have taken me down a couple of times. Not fun and quite painful to say the least. Today’s attempt yielded success. I rolled through the jaws of death quite smoothly, letting out a loud ‘woohoo’ to celebrate the occasion.

The ‘ah-ha’ moment came with the realization that it’s the ability to persevere through life’s bumps and negative experiences Read More

New Mexico has dropped back to 50th for child well-being in the national 2022 KIDS COUNT Data Book rankings, although this ranking isn’t comparable to our 49th ranking last year.

Despite New Mexico’s ranking, we have seen real improvements in child well-being Read More

As I mentioned last month, the psoas is instrumental in our ability to move, walk and perform day-to-day activities. In some Buddhist, yogic and mental health practices, the psoas is said to be the seat of the soul, storing trauma, emotion, and tension. It can also play a big role in our flight, fight and freeze complex.
