Hello friends. It’s been over 20 years since the Christian Science Society in Los Alamos hosted a talk on Christian Science for the community. That changes at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9.
We hope you’ll join us for “Moving past fear – to healing” – a talk by Lisa Troseth at the Los Alamos Nature Center. Lisa has spoken to groups around the world and is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher. She’s also a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

This morning, Feb. 27, 2024, the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) responded to a 9-1-1 call received by the LAPD Consolidated Dispatch Center reporting a three-car accident on N.M. 501/East Jemez Road (Truck Route) near mile marker 7.
LAPD officers arrived on the scene a few minutes later at 7:27 a.m., followed by Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD). Police officers closed the Truck Route for several hours for accident response, clean-up and investigation efforts.

Meeting For LAMS 8th Graders Attending Annual Spring Break In Washington D.C. Trip
LAMS News:
There will be a meeting for this year’s 8th grade students who are attending the annual spring break trip to Washington, D.C.
The meeting will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, after school in the Los Alamos Middle School library (the MC). There will be an additional meeting at 3 p.m. March 22. Parents are encouraged to attend both meetings.
It is not too late to sign up for this year’s trip but time is running out!

All Lanes On East Jemez & N.M. 4 To Reopen By March 1
COUNTY News:
Crews are scheduled to complete most of the construction on both East Jemez Road and N.M. 4 and reopen all lanes to traffic by Friday, March 1.
Crews will return to the project in mid- to late-April to apply OGFC (Open-Graded Friction Course) pavement to the roadway to help reduce wet-weather crashes. This activity requires consistently higher daytime temperatures.
Traffic Impacts In Place In The Meantime:
- N.M. 4 traffic south of the intersection of N.M. 4 and East Jemez Road is shifted to the west side of the roadway, with one lane open in each direction (northbound and southbound).

Los Alamos County Public Works Department, in partnership with contractor TLC Plumbing & Utility, will begin work on the Rose Street Reconstruction Project on Rose Street from Central Avenue to Peach Street, including sections of Peach Street and Spruce Street.

Teresa Leger Fernández (D-N.M.), Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.), and Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.), are welcoming over $9 million in funding from the Infrastructure Law for upgrades at the Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) and Clovis Regional Airport (CVN).

Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) encourages students and families to join in celebrating the LAPS transportation staff on National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day Thursday, Feb. 22.
