JEMEZ SPRINGS — Backcountry vehicle passes for May 15 through May 31 of the 2024 summer season are now available on Recreation.gov.
The backcountry vehicle route is open May 15 through Nov. 15; weather-permitting.

ALBUQUERQUE — As part of continuing operations in the Albuquerque area, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers arrested 20 suspected impaired drivers Feb. 8-10. The increased enforcement efforts to ensure public safety on the roads have yielded commendable results.
During the weekend, NMSP officers made 95 traffic stops within the Metro area. Through vigilant enforcement measures, officers issued 48 traffic citations, reinforcing the importance of adherence to traffic laws for the safety of all road users.

Rendija Road Closing Wednesday For Water Leak Repair

Water crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will close Rendija Road at 8 p.m. Wednesday to repair a leak on the Guaje Canyon water transmission line.
Until DPU’s crews expose the line and see the condition of it, they won’t have a firm timeline for the repair, however they estimate the work and the road closure could take up to two days.
Los Alamos residents and San Ildefonso commuters will not be able to access the road, the Pajarito Trailhead or Los Alamos Sportsmen’s Club during that time. Read More
