Fuselier: Marlon’s Road To Emmaus
Editor’s note: This is the third of a three-part series about the NPH’s work in Latin America. Please see previous part one here and part two here.
Marlon’s Emmaus moment came somewhere during his early 30’s. Before that, he had experienced the love of his two parents early in his life, enough to give him the confidence needed to survive living on the streets of Tegucigalpa as a young teenager. He had also felt a tremendous sense of abandonment as a young child when his mother died and as a young teenager when his father told him that he could no longer support him. On the streets, Read More

Posts From The Road: Lake Powell In Arizona
Wahweap Overlook in 2016 – this image and the two below were taken from the Wahweap Overlook just outside of Page, Ariz. The images were all taken from the same overlook but not necessarily the exact same angle, etc. The water level is dramatically different in each image. The 2016 image shows the water far from full level as the drought had already taken a toll on the lake level but it was still at a decent level. The 2022 image reflects the lake near its lowest level and the sight is dreadful. The 2023 image taken this week shows a giant step forward as Lake Powell begins to recover. Fr. Glenn: Searching … searching …
I saw an interesting post the other day:
“Just a reminder that 75% of the time you’ll ever get to spend with your kids is over by the time they turn 12. And 90% of your time with them is gone by the time they’re 18. So slow down, be present and enjoy these short, sweet years. They’ll soon be over.” Good advice. Just sharing. Remember “Cat’s in the Cradle”. Nobody at their death ever lamented spending too much time with their children.
On an unrelated note: we’ve all likely seen comics depicting aliens coming to earth with various themes of “Take me to your leader” or zooming back to outer Read More

Home Country: Beats The Alternative

By SLIM RANDLES
Ran into Doc down at The Mule Barn the other day, so naturally we had to rid the world of about a gallon of coffee and solve the world’s problems for an hour. It is the duty of all true Americans of our age, you know.
Doc said he’d been aching a little bit lately. Joints or something. He’d been out fixing the pasture fence where the mare had been pushing on it. The next morning it made him walk funny.
“I remember when my dad was my age,” he said. “I asked him how it felt to be this old. Well, he looked at me as though I were committing a crime by having brown hair, you know? And then he said, Read More
