COMMUNITY News:
Los Alamos Family Council has been supported in its’ efforts to promote the social and emotional well-being through education, prevention, and counseling from numerous donors, corporate sponsors, and major funders.
The single largest major funder since its founding has been United Way of Northern New Mexico.
United Way of Northern New Mexico was once called Los Alamos Community Chest. In 1964, the Los Alamos Community Chest announced it would fund Los Alamos Family Council’s 1965 work with $5,000 as part of the Community Chest’s annual funding cycle. That campaign delivered $47,250 to local programs and organizations.
Today, United Way of Northern New Mexico remains a strong supporter of the work at Los Alamos Family Council. This funding helps cover shortfalls in the costs of delivering services and when clients are unable to pay.
Additional support from United Way has historically funded Los Alamos Family Council’s work at the Youth Activity Centers as well.
Los Alamos Family Council is thankful for the ongoing support provided by United Way of Northern New Mexico and our other major donors and funders. It is only with their help that the council is able to continue its work to promote the social and emotional well-being of those in the community through education, prevention and counseling.
