Superintendent Jennifer Guy

Amid enthusiastic applause, the Los Alamos School Board unanimously approved appointing Interim Superintendent Jennifer Guy as the new superintendent of schools during Thursday night’s board meeting.

Guy’s new position is effective July 1 and contingent on the Public Education Department’s approval of a settlement agreement with former Superintendent Jose Delfin.

Additionally, the school board unanimously approved Los Alamos School  Board President Antonio Jaurigue to work with legal counsel to prepare a superintendent employment contract reflecting terms discussed during a closed session Thursday night. The employment contract will be approved at a later meeting, which will be open to the public.
