Los Alamos Fire Department Firefighters held a ‘push-in ceremony’ for their new engine Monday afternoon at Station No. 3 in White Rock. A ‘push-in ceremony’ is a tradition where a new fire truck is ceremoniously pushed into the fire station bay by firefighters. This practice, originating with horse-drawn engines needing manual placement, symbolizes the truck entering active service and honors the history of firefighting. FBI: Assault Charges Filed Against Shiprock Man

FBI News:

ALBUQUERQUE — A Shiprock man is facing federal charges for a violent assault that left two people seriously injured.

According to court documents, on Aug. 5, 2025, Joshua Black, 20, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, became violent during an argument at the home. Black assaulted another man by slamming his head into a fireplace and striking him repeatedly with a shovel and a wooden board.

Law Enforcement Task Force Arrests Armed Drug Trafficker Who Targeted Juveniles

SANTA FE — A joint law enforcement operation removed an alleged armed drug dealer off the streets after investigators said he used social media to sell firearms and narcotics, including to at least one juvenile.

Lincoln County Storm And Flood Victims Can Get D-SNAP Food Assistance

SANTA FE — Residents of Lincoln County affected by the recent storm and flooding may be eligible for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) benefits.

The New Mexico State Fair has added park and ride services for the 2025 State Fair event to help ease traffic and congestion during prime hours at the Fair.

The Los Alamos County Golf Course front nine has been open for play for a month, and this morning, Aug. 11, staff evaluated the course for any problem areas and the overall status of the course for additional play.
