Esta Lee Albright is an integral part of the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) team. She started volunteering for PEEC in 2006, after moving to Los Alamos from Monterey, Calif.
Initially, Albright worked mainly with the animal exhibits, and later she took over the enormous task of editing Nature Notes, PEEC’s quarterly newsletter. PEEC spoke with Albright about her involvement with the organization, and how she has been able to utilize her skills and pursue her own interests in nature through volunteering at PEEC. Read More

Piñon Elementary School under the New Mexico Reads to Lead! initiative, will host a family engagement workshop called Readers Raise the Roof! 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 for parents of children in kindergarten through third grade.
This workshop will provide parents with at-home tools to support their children’s reading achievement. Readers Raise the Roof! workshops will be led by teachers dressed as construction workers to engage the audience.
