Utilities Board Vice Chair Tim Neal advised Council this evening that the water usage portion of the Environmental Sustainabilty Plan is incorrect.

Management Analyst Tom Nagawiecki of Los Alamos County Environmental Services and Public Works Director Philo Shelton are presenting to Los Alamos County Council further details of the Environmental Sustainability Plan this evening in Council Chambers. Council heard part of the briefing at its last Council meeting.
The Environmental Sustainability Board has recommended that the County approve the Environmental Sustainability Plan and Council is expected to vote on the plan this evening.

It’s Official: Dino Sgambellone Is New Los Alamos Police Chief
New Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone

Los Alamos County Administrator Harry Burgess announced this evening that Dino Sgambellone has accepted his offer to be the next Police Chief of Los Alamos County.
His first day in the office will be Tuesday, Nov. 12. Sgambellone was selected from the top five finalists who traveled to Los Alamos last month to interview for the position. He is currently the Police Chief in Mansfield, Ohio.

Rattler Spotted on Rendija Canyon Trail
Los Alamos resident Kei Davis was out for an afternoon hike Monday walking from the paved parking lot in Rendija Canyon before the Sportsmen’s Club (Orienteers parking lot) and on the way back heard, then spotted this rattlesnake just off the trail. ‘It’s not clear from the photo but just over half its length is off the ground, ready to strike,’ Davis told the Los Alamos Daily Post. ‘It was just being defensive, not offensive.
