Classes Resume Tuesday at Barranca Mesa
LAPS News:
Classes will resume at Barranca Mesa Elementary School Tuesday, May 28.
Classes were canceled Thursday and Friday, May 22-23, due to damage sustained to the school from a fierce wind event that peeled the roof off the gymnasium and dropped it on the library and preschool playground area.
Workers have been removing debris and preparing the school for classes Tuesday.

Despite recent scattered rain showers, the Santa Fe National Forest and Valles Caldera National Preserve entered Stage 1 fire restrictions at 8 a.m.Tuesday, May 14, due to extreme/exceptional drought conditions and high fire danger.
The Pecos Wilderness and San Pedro Parks Wilderness areas are exempt from Stage I fire restrictions. He was on hospice in the past week or more. His family had traveled to Los Alamos to be with him at the end.
