RANM: Housing Market Continues To Improve

2013 First Quarter sales and median prices reported to the REALTORS Association of New Mexico (RANM) show an increase over 2011 and 2012 first quarter reports.
In the first quarter of 2013 there were 3,306 sales reported. This tops the 2012 number of 3,018.
Nineteen reporting counties showed an increase in sales numbers this year over last. In March 2013, there were 1,272 New Mexico sales reported – a 3.7 percent increase over the number of March 2012 sales.

Volunteers Plant 2,100 Seedlings Near Pajarito Mountain

More than 75 volunteers from Los Alamos and throughout northern New Mexico planted about 2,100 Douglas fir seedlings in the Las Conchas fire burned area on the Santa Fe National Forest April 12-13.
The 9-inch tall trees were planted along the trail to Cañada Bonita near the Nordic Ski Tracks.

Meet Steritz and see her work at the “Living Things” exhibit opening reception 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 19.
When Steritz was getting her Master’s Degree in Ceramics in the 80s, one of her professors asked her whether her artwork was “personal.”
At the time she was learning a lot of useful techniques, and working with wonderful materials, but she knew that her work wasn’t personal.

Pegasus Staff Holds Swap Meet at LAHS

Pegasus, Los Alamos High School’s art and literary magazine will host its third annual swap meet beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 20 in the high school parking lot.
Spaces are still available for a donation of $20, which may be paid at the LAHS bookkeeping office or on the morning of the event.
Vendors must supply their own table and/or shade if needed.
Donations of items the students can sell may be dropped off at the LAHS main office or at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at the event.

Council Adopts $186,307,202 Budget For FY2014
Los Alamos County Council voted 7-0 to approve the FY2014 budget of $186,307,202 – an increase of $378,565 over the proposed budget.
