Los Alamos Home Tour Showcases Eight Residences

Eight Los Alamos families are working hard to prepare for Los Alamos Home Tour 2012. The families will open their homes to visitors 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
The event will benefit the Family Strengths Network (FSN.) Tickets are $20 in advance and may be purchased CB FOX, Otowi Station, Los Alamos Medical Center Gift Shop and the Reel Deal Theater.

Heather Wilson Shares Health Care Views at LAMC Meeting

In a question and answer format, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Heather Wilson exchanged ideas with a group of medical professionals and other members of the public on the topic of health care during a meeting at Los Alamos Medical Center Wednesday.
“I think the Health Care Act was a mistake and should be repealed,” Wilson said speaking of The Protection and Affordable Care Act, Public Law 111-148, signed by President Obama in March 2010.

A study of the movements of trout in the Valles Caldera National Preserve will be conducted from about 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Oct. 23 and 24.
Dave Menicucci of the University of New Mexico is conducting the study as principal investigator.

Barkin’ Ball is Chance to Thank Good Neighbor

The Santa Fe Animal Shelter is hosting its annual Barkin’ Ball at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.
The Los Alamos community is invited to attend the Shelter’s largest fundraising event of the year, which typically attracts at least a few famous people.
Ticket sales are down this year and they really need more people to attend.
