GOP Dist. 3 Congressional candidate Jefferson Byrd was unable to attend Saturday’s grand opening celebration of the Republican Party of Los Alamos Headquarters, 1362 D-1 Trinity Dr.
Standing in for Byrd, his Campaign Manager Rey Herrera spoke with the Los Alamos Daily Post about his candidate’s hopes for beating Democratic incumbent Rep. Ben Ray Luján.

The Los Alamos High School Fall Golf Invitational included 115 golfers from 16 different schools.
The LAHS girls golf team earned its first state qualifying leg of the 2012/2013 season. Three qualifying legs are required to get to state. Local Teen Whitewater Kayaker Wins the Colorado River Gore Canyon Race
Jessie Bohn, a senior at Los Alamos High School, was the youngest competitor and had the fastest time in the women’s kayak division in the Gore Canyon Race held on Aug. 18, 2012.
Jessie also had the fastest women’s time down the course and was awarded “Queen of Gore Race 2012”.
