Volunteers Needed to Repair Homes
BUILDING KINDNESS News:
Building Kindness, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, needs volunteers to help repair homes in neighboring communities.
Be a good neighbor while learning new skills. Both skilled and unskilled volunteers welcome.
This ongoing program meets starting at 8 a.m. every Saturday at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Espanola.
However, this Saturday, Aug. 11, there will be no work scheduled so is advised to call David Canfield prior to volunteering to get on his email list for a schedule of work days.

After relocating to New Mexico from Maryland in 2010, the incoming Los Alamos County Princess, Julia Montoya, continued to pursue her passion for horses and interest in horsemanship with the Turquoise Trail Wranglers 4-H Club.

U.S. Senatorial candidate Heather Wilson will be in Los Alamos Saturday to march in the Los Alamos County Fair & Rodeo Parade.

Mi Casita Restaurant Closing Down Friday
Owner Oscar Duran told the Los Alamos Daily Post today that he will close down his restaurant, Mi Casita, in the VFW building on Trinity Drive at 2 p.m. Friday after serving the final lunch. “We gave it a good run but our business dried up in the spring after the Lab began laying off its contractors … they were our main business,” he said.
