The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) today announced the results of “Project Below the Beltway” – a two-year series of investigations targeting the Sinaloa and Juarez Cartels and violent street gangs as part of an on-going initiative against the cartels and their distribution network in America.
The series of federal, state and local investigations began in May 2010 and culminated on Dec. 6, 2012.

LANL’s ‘Individual Permit for Storm Water’ Public Meeting is Dec. 13

Los Alamos National Laboratory is holding an “Individual Permit for Storm Water” public meeting is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Ave.
The Individual Permit for Storm Water encompasses corrective actions and monitoring for 405 sites across Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Seizing literally a split-second opportunity, Los Alamos police officers were able to tase a suicidal man, lunge across the room and snatch his gun away before he could kill himself.
For reasons unknown, Isaiah Cisneros, 26, of Los Alamos threatened to shoot himself on Nov. 24. A woman in his home on 35th Street alerted police.
Cpl. Eric Wilhoit and Ofc. Oliver McCartney responded to the residence and Sgt. Jeremy Duran arrived shortly thereafter.

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office has cited the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup that went off the road on N.M. 4 Sunday, Dec. 2 and rolled over on the embankment.
Dusty Keane, 18, of Los Alamos was cited for failure to maintain her lane, said SFSO Maj. Ken Johnson during a telephone interview with the Los Alamos Daily Post late Tuesday.
Keane was transported to Los Alamos Medical Center following her one-vehicle rollover Sunday afternoon.

I-25 / St. Francis Drive Update
NMDOT News:
NMDOT is shutting down detour lanes at the I-25 / St. Francis Drive interchange this afternoon and diverting traffic back on to I-25.
Traffic will be funneled into single lanes on northbound and southbound I-25. Open and closed lanes may alternate as the project winds down.
All lanes on I-25 at this key interchange in Santa Fe should be re-opened by Christmas, weather permitting. The $6.1 million rehabilitation project will enhance public safety and prolong the life of four bridges on I-25 and one bridge on the St. Francis Drive northbound off-ramp.
