Last Chance to Sign Up for Red Cross Babysitters Course

YMCA News:

The Family YMCA’s American Red Cross Babysitters Course will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17. Registration must be received by 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.

The course is designed by the American Red Cross to prepare youth with training in babysitter safety, basic child care, safe play, first aid and critical emergency skills, essential professional, leadership and care-giving skills, and how to manage real-life problems.

When news broke out a few months ago that an 80-year-old nun and two retiree peace activist had defeated our nation's highest level security systems at the Y-12 site in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and had spent a leisurely evening throwing blood on the walls of a building that houses nuclear weapon components, I was glad that it had not happened here in Los Alamos.

Fake Online Banking Security Alert Advisory

LANB News:

Los Alamos National Bank DID NOT send out a “security alert” email that arrived in people’s In Boxes this morning.

LANB Chief Technology Officer Paul Cook said the email is fake and has a fake address.

“We never send out an email asking customers for their email and password – we would never do that,” Cook said.

Cook advises anyone receiving the email to simply ignore it and delete it.
