UPDATE 2:35 p.m. – Main Hill Road is now open for traffic in both directions.

The Main Hill Road is closed due to an accident involving an overturned car.. Early reports indicate there are no serious injuries. The Los Alamos Police Department anticipates reopening the road around 2:30 p.m. today. Police informed the Los Alamos Daily Post at the scene that witnesses said the female driver lost control, hit the side wall and rolled her vehicle while driving aggressively and passing a car.

Teen Loses Control of Vehicle on Canyon Road

At approximately 8 a.m. this morning, Friday Nov. 2, a white honda accord driven by a 17-year-old Los Alamos boy hit a guard-rail while heading southbound on Canyon Road.

Cooperative Program Removes Highly Enriched Uranium from Uzbekistan

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) today announced the successful removal of 72.8 kilograms of highly enriched uranium (HEU) spent fuel from the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
