UPDATE: Police Re-open N.M. 4 to Jemez Mountains

The Los Alamos Daily Post received official word that N.M. 4 into the Jemez Mountains from Los Alamos has re-opened to traffic in both directions following a crash earlier today. 

Los Alamos Police Capt. Randy Foster released a statement saying that at approximately 11:15 a.m. today, a White 1998 International Flatbed truck was heading eastbound on N.M. 4 near milepost 49 when it exited the roadway and fell approximately 200 feet before coming to rest in the forest.

New Mexico State Road 4 is currently closed due to a paint truck that went off the “second hair pin” turn at mile marker 49 out of Los Alamos a short while ago today. The driver was care-flighted to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

Sept. 6 at 10:45 a.m. / A juvenile from Santa Fe reported being the victim of battery at Los Alamos High School and a Los Alamos juvenile was charged with aggravated battery and referred to the juvenile probation officer while a Santa Fe juvenile was charged with public affray and referred to the juvenile probation officer.
