This month marks the 490th anniversary of Luther’s evangelical catechisms.
While teaching at the University of Wittenberg in Germany, Dr. Martin Luther became aware of the lack of knowledge that the average Christian had regarding the basics of the Christian Faith. Thus, he wrote two evangelical catechisms, which were based on sermons he preached in 1528.

Was scrolling through Facebook the other day and came across a post from one of my former parishioners announcing that yet another one of her young ones was learning to drive. Well, that darn ol’ teasing self came out and I couldn’t help but reply: “Okay, I’ll stay off the sidewalk.”
But, regardless of sarcasm, inside there truly WAS a tinge of surprise: “Is she old enough to drive … already?!”… for etched deep in cherished memory are the many times that “little one”—with brothers and sisters—virtually gang-tackled ol’ Fr. Daily Postcard: Ron Lucero displays his Easter faith at the statue of St. Mary on the grounds of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 3700 Canyon Road in Los Alamos.
