Column: Knee Injuries and Alignment

Contrary to popular belief your knee is not a fragile joint. It is designed to run, jump, ski and perform all the activities you ask of it. The knee is actually a simple joint with a complex job.

Acting as a hinge joint, the knee flexes and extends the lower leg. The complexity of the joint lies in its role in coordinating and synchronizing the movement between the hip and ankle.

Fusion Series 2 Hockey Game Feb. 9 at Ice Rink

ICE RINK News:

The Los Alamos County Ice Rink is hosting the second Annual Winter Classis Fusion Series 2 hockey game between the New Mexico Renegades and the Wichita Thunder Saturday, Feb. 9.

The New Mexico Renegades is a Junior A team located in Rio Rancho and a member of the WSHL’s Mountain Division.

Public skating will be open 1–3:30 p.m., before the Renegades take the ice at 4 p.m. For additional information, contact the Ice Rink at (505) 662-4500.

Los Alamos entered both Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestling teams Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Pecos Invitational.

 

The LAHS-V cruised to a team victory in the tourney. LAHS-V and JV placed 12 wrestlers in either the finals or consolation finals of their weight class.

 

LAHS medalists with associated finals result:

  • Dominique Montoya 4th, lost 3-9
  • John Michael Romero 2nd, lost by pin
  • Chandler Lauritzen 1st, won 9-8

There’s a New Team in Town … The Pajarito Mountain Freeride Team!
