Both the Boys and Girls Los Alamos High School Hilltopper Track & Field teams were crowned 2025 District Champions on an intermittently rainy evening last Friday at Moriarty High School. The Boys finished ahead of Taos, 198-111, and the Girls bested Moriarty, 206-119.

Toppers Take Tough State Playoff Loss Against Rockets
The Los Alamos High School Toppers played host for the first round of State Playoffs best of three games. The Roswell Goddard Rockets and the Toppers played Friday and Saturday on Bomber Field and the Rockets proved to be too strong for the Toppers and they lost the first game 15-1 and the second game 11-4, thus closing out the season for the Toppers. This past week saw good, soaking rain at lower elevations. There was heavy snow at higher elevations (up to three feet at some locations). The mountains were covered with a beautiful white blanket. They looked better in the beginning of May than they had looked most of the winter.
The moisture is most welcome after our dry winter and meager snowpack.

Matt Fesko was the best predictor in the Atomic City Road Runner’s weekly pace race held Tuesday on the Kwage Trail on North Mesa. He had a 1 second difference from his predicted time.
Other accurate predictors:
- Chris Michel at 2 seconds off;
- Edith Acosta with a 3 second differential;
- Priscila Rosa had a 5 second difference, top female finisher in the 2 mile race at 21:03; and
- Zeke Wilmot recording 14 seconds
