Aprroximately 90 runners participated in the fourth annual Run For Her Life 5k and 10K race Sunday. The race, presented  by the Los Alamos Chapter of Hadassah and Atomic City Roadrunners, raises awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. See race results here.

LAHS Girls T&F Competes at Cleveland HS

The Los Alamos High School Girls Track & Field team competed Saturday at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho. The meet was an all-relays format so all events were either run as traditional relays or scored by combining the individual marks in the event.

Los Alamos finished second overall and had two more State qualifiers. Sophia Galvez qualified in the 3200m (12:10.84) and the 4x400m team of Elena Abeyta, Sienna Ahlers, Clare Ticknor and Hayley Schake ran a qualifying time of 4:12.11.

Put on your running (or walking) shoes. At 9 a.m. Sunday, March 30 the Los Alamos Chapter of Hadassah  and Atomic City Roadrunners will present the fourth annual Run for Her Life. The event is a 5K and 10K race in Los Alamos to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer.

Registration Begins for 2014 Slow Pitch Season

LA SLOW PITCH News:

Registration is in process for teams wishing to play in the 2014 men’s and women’s slow pitch season.

The season will begin with a pre-season tournament on the weekend of April 26 and April 27. The regular season will begin shortly afterwards.

Games will be played on the adult softball fields at Overlook Park on Mondays – Thursdays in the evenings from the beginning of May until the end of July.

Sheriff’s Association’s High School Golf Scholarship Tournament April 10

SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION News:

The New Mexico Sheriff’s Association’s High School Golf Scholarship Tournament is noon Thursday, April 10 at Kirtland Air Force in Albuquerque. Lunch is provided.

The proceeds collected by each sheriff in their county are awarded to a local graduating senior. Cost for participating in the tournament is $100 per player. Businesses can sponsor a hole for $150.
