Jemez Broadband Project Connecting Hundreds Of Homes

SANTA FE — The first homes in a new broadband development project on the Pueblo of Jemez are now receiving high-speed internet.

The fiber connections are being installed because of a multimillion-dollar broadband project grant. Currently, 21 homes have been connected directly to fiber on the new network.

The project will eventually provide fiber broadband to more than 670 unserved and underserved homes, Tribal departments, programs, and businesses upon completion.

New Mexico State Parks: Free Entry And Fishing Sept. 27-28!

SANTA FE — The New Mexico State Parks Division (NMSPD) and the Department of Game and Fish are offering an extra incentive for people to get outdoors this weekend.

All state parks are open for free day-use Sept. 27-28 in recognition of National Public Lands Day. The same day, state parks along the Pecos River are co-hosting the annual Pecos-to-Pecos Road and River Cleanup that brings communities in New Mexico and Texas together.

FBI Returns Historic ‘Villa De Santa Fe’ Map To Mexico

Today, the FBI returned a historic map titled “Villa de Santa Fe” to the Government of Mexico during a ceremony in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The map had been reported stolen in 2011.

MERRITT ISLAND, FL — NOAA’s first satellite designed specifically for continuous, operational space weather observations – began its one-million-mile journey at 7:30 a.m. EDT, today, Sept. 24, from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. SANTA FE — Unintentional falls were the leading cause of injury-related deaths among older New Mexicans from 2019-2023, according to New Mexico Department of Health data. 

A recent New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) report on Unintentional Fall-Related Injuries Among Older Adults in New Mexico includes some key points on fall-related deaths and hospitalizations among New Mexicans aged 65 and older.
