SANTA FE — The New Mexico Magistrate Judges Association has re-elected its president and other officers for one-year terms and filled three vacancies on its board.
The association also donated $2,000 and collected $1,850 in donations from individual judges for a flooding relief drive in Ruidoso. The $3,850 was used to purchase household items needed by people affected by flooding in the Lincoln County community.

DEA Launches Operation Vape Trail To Crack Down On Illegal Substances Found In Vape Shops

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sept. 22., the Drug Enforcement Administration announced the results of a week-long operational enforcement action as part of a whole-of-government initiative aimed at removing dangerous and illegal vaping substances from communities across America. SANTA FE — New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on Monday announced new satellite data showing New Mexico’s methane rules cut oil and gas facility emissions in the Permian Basin by half compared to neighboring Texas.

In October the State Game and Fish Department will begin stocking lakes and ponds in Southern New Mexico as part of their Winter Trout Stocking Program. These waters are too warm in the summer to sustain trout.
They cool down in the fall and during the winter they do not freeze so trout can survive. This offers anglers in that part of the state the opportunity to cast out without having to make a long drive. These stockings, including Tingley Beach and the drainage canals in Albuquerque, will continue throughout the winter until the end of March. Read More
New Mexico Office Of The Superintendent Of Insurance Approves 2026 Health Insurance Premium Rates For Small Group Health Insurance Market

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Office of the Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) has approved 2026 health insurance premium rates for the small group health insurance market.
The average increase across all plans is 16.8 percent. The new rates take effect Jan. 1, 2026, when health insurance small group consumers in New Mexico will have 137 plan options available. Currently, almost 36,000 New Mexicans are enrolled in a small group plan.

Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) applauded the unanimous Senate passage of legislation to reauthorize the SUPPORT Act – a landmark federal investment to combat the fentanyl crisis through addiction prevention, treatment, recovery, and law enforcement efforts.
