FBI: Tohatchi Man Pleads Guilty To Violent Strangulation That Left Victim With Serious Injuries

ALBUQUERQUE — A Tohatchi man pleaded guilty to federal charges for attacking a female victim (Jane Doe) during an argument, leaving her with serious injuries.
According to court records, on March 5 and 6, 2024, Victor Badonie, 33, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was with Jane Doe at her home in Zuni, New Mexico. An argument broke out, during which Badonie assaulted and strangled Doe, resulting in Jane Doe’s hospitalization for her serious bodily injuries.
Badonie pleaded guilty to the felony crimes of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault by strangulation. Read More
State Revenue Projected To Grow By $485 Million For FY27
STATE News:
LAS CRUCES — New Mexico’s Consensus Revenue Estimating Group (CREG) is projecting $14.11 billion in General Fund revenue for fiscal year 2027, an increase of $485 million over the current year budget.
The estimate, announced at a meeting of the Legislative Finance Committee in Las Cruces on Tuesday, projects healthy FY26 reserves of $3.94 billion or 36.4% of recurring appropriations. The CREG also projects $390 million in additional revenue from FY25 that lawmakers may appropriate during a special session.
