Heinrich, Hoeven Introduce National Bison Legacy Act

WASHINGTON, D.C.  U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M. and John Hoeven, R-N.D. have announced that they are introducing bipartisan legislation, the National Bison Legacy Act, to make the American bison the national mammal of the United States.

Los Alamos Student John Mamula Wins Audition At New Mexico School For The Arts

John Mamula of Los Alamos was chosen through a statewide audition to enter into his sophomore year of high school at the New Mexico School for the Arts (NMSA) in Santa Fe.

He will be studying in NMSA’s instrumental music department, with a focus on cello. Mamula has been focusing on his cello studies for more than four years and has received statewide recognition for his accomplishments.

IRS Reminds Corporations, Partnerships Of Sept. 15 Filing Extension Due Date

IRS News:

PHOENIX – The Internal Revenue Service today reminded corporations and partnerships that took extensions to file their income tax returns by the Sept. 15 deadline, which applies to any business whose fiscal year also is the calendar year.

The IRS continues to see strong growth in corporations and partnerships shifting from paper returns to e-file. As of Aug. 30, more than six million corporations and partnerships have electronically filed their returns this year, representing a nearly eight percent overall increase from the prior year.

Manny’s Tool Box, a tool lending program funded by White Rock Presbyterian Church, will be dedicated during the worship service at House of Fellowship Navajo Church near Bread Springs, N.M. Sunday, Sept. 20.
