Los Alamos will receive a visit from royalty July 13-18 – an African Prince along with traditional South African performers coming to the town to share an energetic dance performance with live music July 15 and 18 at ScienceFest.

SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez announced Thursday the appointment of Myles Copeland as New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) cabinet secretary to succeed Secretary Gino Rinaldi, who is leaving his post after more than two years of service.
Copeland has been the deputy secretary of the department since 2013. Previously, he worked with issues relating to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and he has a passion for helping the elderly and those who care for them.
