FBI: Person Of Interest Sought In Death Of Acoma Pueblo Woman

The FBI is seeking a person of interest who may have information regarding the death of a woman whose body was found on Acoma Pueblo in November 2014.
Nathan Chavez, 32, is 5’8” tall, weighs approximately 165 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen Nov. 23, 2014, in the Laguna Pueblo area attempting to hitch a ride to Albuquerque.
Chavez is known to frequent Albuquerque homeless shelters around the area of Central Avenue and Wyoming Boulevard. He also is known to stay around the area of Central Avenue and Yale Boulevard, near the University of New Mexico. Read More

SANTA FE – Legislation that would significantly reduce workers’ compensation in cases when the employee’s death or injury is the result of being drunk or high on the job passed the House floor by a bi-partisan 64-2.

WIPP recently placed a new emergency response vehicle into service. The new fire engine “Engine 24” will enhance emergency response capabilities at the WIPP facility.
The new four-wheel drive vehicle was designed to respond to both structure and wild land fires. Capable of carrying 1,500 gallons of water on board, the engine has the ability to spray water or foam through a remote-controlled turret located on the front bumper while driving.
