Governor Announces Three New Mexico Schools Awarded New Fitness Centers

Gov. Susana Martinez and National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils (NFGFC) Chairman Jake Steinfeld announced Thursday that three New Mexico schools will receive new fitness centers through a partnership between the State of New Mexico and NFGFC.

The three New Mexico schools are:

  • Jemez Valley Elementary and Middle Schools in Jemez Pueblo;
  • East San Jose Elementary School in Albuquerque; and
  • Mesa Elementary School in Shiprock.

The New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry (ACI), New Mexico’s statewide business advocate, submitted requests Thursday under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) for records pertaining to contract purchases by Albuquerque Public Schools, Rio Rancho Public Schools, and the cities of Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and Santa Fe.

School Grades Show New Mexico on Path to Improvement

DOE Shares Steps For Modernizing Natural Gas Infrastructure

Building on the President’s Climate Action Plan, the White House and the Department of Energy hosted the fifth in a series of meetings on reducing methane emissions from natural gas systems.

Governor Appoints LAHS Graduate Jennifer Attrep to 1st Judicial District Court

COURT News:

Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Los Alamos High School graduate Jennifer Attrep to the 1st Judicial District Court.

Attrep, now of Santa Fe, will serve until the end of the year as her appointment fills a new position created when the governor recently signed into law House Bill 141, which established additional judgeships throughout the state. Candidates for this judgeship were not able to run in the June Primary Election because the position wasn’t officially available until May and did not allow enough time for candidates to participate in that election.
