Upgrade to Mars Rover Could Aid Discovery on More Distant Worlds

Nearly 9,000 NM Homes to Gain Broadband Access

ALBUQUERQUE ─ Monday, U.S. Sen. Tom Udall applauded the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) allocation of $5.18 million from the Connect America Fund (CAF) to expand and improve broadband service to nearly 9,000 New Mexico households.

IRS Interest Rates Remain Same for Fourth Quarter

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced that interest rates will remain the same for the calendar quarter beginning Oct. 1.

The rates will be:

  • 3 percent for overpayments [two percent in the case of a corporation];
  • 3 percent for underpayments;
  • 5 percent for large corporate underpayments; and
  • 1/2 percent for the portion of a corporate overpayment exceeding $10,000.

Search and Rescue Find Body of Token Adams

Search and Rescue personnel this morning found the body of the firefighter who went missing Aug. 30 while scouting reports of smoke in the Jemez.
