Cruise the Caldera
Explore more than 60 miles of roads on the Valles Caldera National Preserve by Mountain Bike Saturday, Aug. 25.
This event will happen only once this season, and it is open for all ages and abilities.
Participants can ride from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at one of two entrances; Banco Bonito Staging area, mile marker 30 off N.M. 4 or the Valle Grande Staging Area mile marker 39.2 off N.M. 4.

Trinity Drive Curb and Gutter Work Begins Aug. 13
NMDOT News:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) crews will begin work on a curb and gutter replacement project on westbound Trinity Drive Monday, Aug. 13.
The work area will extend from mile marker 0.0 to mile marker 1.0, or from the intersection of Diamond Drive and Trinity Drive to the Ashley Pond area.
Pedestrian sidewalks along westbound Trinity Drive will be closed as crews remove and replace crumbling and damaged curb and gutters.
The project is scheduled for completion within three weeks, weather permitting.

The Heron Lake Paddle Festival is set for Aug. 10, 11 and 12. Heron Lake State Park is 11 miles west of Tierra Amarilla via U.S. highways 64 and 84 and N.M. 95.
This three day event includes canoe and kayak clinics, demos and races among other activities such as a used gear sale.
The Paddle Festival site is in the Ridge Rock area of Heron Lake State Park – just west of the dam.
