Alcove House Temporarily Closed Starting March 31, 2025 At Bandelier For Flood Debris Removal

NPS News:

Bandelier National Monument’s Alcove House will be temporarily closed starting Monday, March 31, 2025.

The park is beginning flood debris removal in that area, and work is expected to last up to five weeks.

Portions of the Cottonwood Overflow Parking Lot will also be closed during this time. It is recommended that visitors arrive to Bandelier before 9 a.m. or after 3 p.m. to avoid parking lot congestion.

Despite the significant changes being churned out at rapid speed in the federal government, NNSA-Los Alamos Field Office Manager Ted Wyka assured Los Alamos County Council that within the field office and in Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), it is business as usual.

OBAE Receives 66 Applications For $675 Million In New Mexico Broadband Infrastructure Grants

SANTA FE — Today, the Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) announced that 18 entities have submitted a total of 66 applications for $675 million in New Mexico grants through the federal Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program.

Entities competing for BEAD funding include 10 internet service providers, five cooperatives and three Tribal communities. Sixteen of those applied for projects in more than one location.

FBI: Albuquerque Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Trafficking And Firearms Charges … Forfeits Weapons, Vehicles, Cash

ALBUQUERQUE — An Albuquerque man has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking and firearms charges, agreeing to forfeit multiple weapons, vehicles and more than $64,000 in cash seized during a raid on his residence.

According to court records, March 23, 2023, the FBI SWAT team executed a search warrant at Jerry Bezie’s residence in the South Valley. During the operation, agents seized more than 16 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately 11,400 grams of fentanyl pills, multiple firearms, ammunition and other items indicative of drug trafficking activities.
