Gartz Is Top Predictor In Weekly Pace Race

David Gartz was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on Kwage Mesa by the horse stables on North Mesa—only 3 seconds off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were Sanna Sevanto with a 4 second difference; Zeke Wilmot recording 7 seconds off; Madeline Harms with a 13 second difference; and Zach Medin at 14 seconds off.

On the 1-mile course 11-year-old Levi Gartz was the first finisher with a 7:56 and 7-year-old Ivana Velechovsky was the best female recording a 11:40.

Library To Host Poets From Finishing Line Press April 25

The Los Alamos Public Library will host four poets from Finishing Line Press for an author discussion and poetry reading from 3–4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 25, at Mesa Public Library. Join poets Karen Petersen, Kelly Dolejsi, Mary Strong Jackson and Cheryl Howard for a lively discussion and explore their works at the library.

For the 6th consecutive year, PAC 8 will be teaming up with the Los Alamos Teen Center to offer the Summer Film Intensive Program. Open to youth ages 13-18, this three-week program will take participants through all of the steps in the process of creating an original short film—screen writing, camera operation, production planning and location shooting, acting, editing, and numerous other aspects of the film process. City Of Santa Fe Encourages Early Adoption Of Seasonal Watering Restrictions

SANTA FE — As the outdoor watering season begins, the City of Santa Fe is reminding residents that seasonal water conservation requirements go into effect May 1 and will run through October. These restrictions prohibit outdoor watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Additionally, the city is asking residents and commercial users to begin these important watering restrictions early, starting now.

Los Alamos County Emergency Management will conduct a test of the County’s emergency notification system, Everbridge, at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 24.

This test is part of the County’s ongoing efforts to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of its emergency communication tools and to familiarize the public with how alerts are delivered.
