Public Invited to Chapter 16 Q&A Session

County News:

Residents and business owners in Los Alamos and White Rock are encouraged to attend an informal Q&A session with Acting Community Development Director Steve Brugger at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12 in Council Chambers at 20th Street and Central Avenue.

The Q&A session is regarding proposed changes to Chapter 16 of the County Code.

Chapter 16 is more commonly known as the County’s Development Code.

Suggested changes include implementation of a Special Plan District.

Other changes are being proposed to clarify the planning review and permitting process.

Driveway Temporarily Closed Near Fuller Lodge

 
County News:
 
The driveway from Bathtub Row to the front parking lot of Fuller Lodge will be closed April 12 and 13 for installation of a valley gutter.
 
The work is needed to help with drainage issues on the road, which experiences icy conditions each winter.
 
The road will close at 9 a.m. April 12 and should reopen by9 a.m. Saturday, April 14.
 
Lodge visitors are asked to park in the upper and lower parking lots just west of Bathtub Row during construction.
 
The work is part of a larger project starting on Monday for improvements to the grounds and exterior of Fuller

Los Alamos County Tops State Health Rankings

Los Alamos County tops the list in county health rankings for New Mexico, according to the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program, a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

The County Health Rankings measure the health of nearly all counties in the nation and rank them within states.

The Rankings are compiled using county-level measures from a variety of national and state data sources.

Los Alamos Police Taking on Espanola Police

The public is invited to attend a battle between officers of the Los Alamos Police Department and officers of the Espanola Police Department.

This highly competitive, action-packed basketball game begins at 2 p.m. April 28 at Northern New Mexico College, 921 N. Paseo De Onate in Espanola.
