Governor Appoints Judge Gary L. Clingman To New Mexico Supreme Court

SANTA FE – Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Fifth Judicial District Judge Gary L. Clingman to the New Mexico Supreme Court, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Edward L. Chavez. 

Judge Clingman brings more than 30 years of legal experience, including more than 20 years as on the bench as a district judge, to the Supreme Court.

Councilor Chrobocinski Responds To Investigation Request By County Employees

Los Alamos County Councilor James Chrobocinski has responded to a request for a Code of Conduct investigation filed against him Feb. 15 by two Los Alamos County employees.

Chrobocinski’s response includes multiple documents and copies of state statutes and Constitutional provisions as well as a lengthy press release and a five-page statement.

Gov. Appoints Jason Lidyard To 1st Judicial Dist. Court

SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Jason Lidyard of Santa Fe to Division V of the First Judicial District Court.

Lidyard fills the vacancy created by Judge Jennifer Attrep, who stepped down after being appointed as a judge for the New Mexico Court of Appeals.

Los Alamos Magistrate Court Briefs

MAGISTRATE COURT News:

Juanadolfo Gomez, 30, of San Juan Pueblo appeared March 23 Los Alamos Magistrate Court on charges of possession of a controlled substance – Suboxone and shoplifting of less than $250. He received a suspended sentence of 182 days on the shoplifting charge and was placed on supervised probation for 182 days. On the Suboxone charge, he received a 364 day suspended sentence and was placed on supervised probation for one year.

Both sentences are to run concurrently and Gomez was ordered to undergo substance abuse screening and complete any recommended treatment.

Man Arrested For Shoplifting Nearly $2,500 Of Alcohol

COURT News:

Philbert Lopez Jr., 34, of Espanola is facing an April 27 preliminary hearing on five counts of shoplifting totaling almost $2,500 comprised entirely of bottles of alcohol stolen from Smith’s Marketplace in Los Alamos and Smith’s in White Rock on five separate occasions in February.

The shoplifting incidents were discovered by Smith’s loss prevention staff while reviewing video surveillance, which showed Lopez placing the bottles in a reusable shopping bag and a grey messenger bag, then leaving the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise.

White Rock Teen Charged With Theft Of Firearm

A preliminary hearing has been set for April 27 for 18-year-old Isaiah Aylmer of White Rock on a charge of stealing a firearm, a fourth degree felony.

Aylmer was arrested March 19 by Los Alamos Police Cpl. Emmanuel Rodriguez and had his first appearance the same day before Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados.

Rodriguez came in contact with Aylmer following a report of a firearm stolen from a White Rock residence. The victim in the case reported that he had gone shooting with Aylmer and when they returned, he had Read More
