Gov.: Child Support Bench Warrant Round Up

For the third year in a row, Gov. Susana Martinez announces a two-part crack-down on non-custodial parents who aren’t paying child support.

The child support bench warrant operation runs through the end of August.

Non-custodial parents with an outstanding bench warrant due to unpaid child support obligations may visit one of the 14 child support offices across the state, pay the full amount of the bond by Aug. 29, and get the warrant quashed or cancelled without fear of arrest.

Governor Appoints LAHS Graduate Jennifer Attrep to 1st Judicial District Court

Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Los Alamos High School graduate Jennifer Attrep to the 1st Judicial District Court.

Attrep, now of Santa Fe, will serve until the end of the year as her appointment fills a new position created when the governor recently signed into law House Bill 141, which established additional judgeships throughout the state. Candidates for this judgeship were not able to run in the June Primary Election because the position wasn’t officially available until May and did not allow enough time for candidates to participate in that election.

Police Dispatch Operator Charged With DUI

POLICE News:

Los Alamos Police Dispatch Operator Randon Romero was arrested May 2 by Santa Fe police and charged with aggravated driving while under the influence of liquor and/or drugs, .16 or above, first offense.

Romero was arraigned May 7 in Santa Fe Magistrate Court at which Judge George Anaya, Jr. set bond at $5,000.

“I am aware of this situation,” LAPD Chief Dino Sgambellone told the Los Alamos Daily Post, adding that Romero remains on the job pending the outcome of an investigation.

A pre-trial hearing is set for June 17 at the Santa Fe Magistrate Court.
