Mesa Public Library’s Authors Speak Series presents David Grant Noble, Author, Archaeologist, Photographer of the Southwest, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25 in the Upstairs Rotunda.

Los Alamos Nets 19 State Science and Engineering Fair Awards

This year, 22 Los Alamos projects qualified for the 2013 New Mexico Science and Engineering Fair held April 4-5 at the New Mexico Tech Campus in Socorro.

Of those 22 projects, 19 received state awards – a tremendous accomplishment as the students competed against 300 students from across the state.

In addition to the category and special awards, Los Alamos Public School students took home three of the eight Grand Awards in the Junior and Senior Divisions.

The Mission of San Juan Capistrano is known for swallows returning each year.

There even is a website dedicated to this event. 

Turkey Vultures are one of Los Alamos’s earliest returning birds, but they’re not quite as endearing as the swallows.

Toppers Band Marches in Disneyland Parade

It's Spring Break and the Los Alamos High School Toppers Band is out and about marching in the Disneyland Parade.

They also got a chance to work with one of Disney’s directors in their recording studios laying down three tracks, one of which was the classic “When You Wish Upon a Star.“

Besides their adventures at Disney, they are touring museums, movies studios, going to the beach and taking in a performance of West Side Story.
