This week the Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers have baseball and softball games away and Track and Field in Albuquerque. 

The Topper sports games are covered by the Los Alamos Daily Post sports team, which includes John McHale, Mike Cote and Nate Limback.

SFCC To Host ‘Wellness Wednesday: One Brain, One Day’ On Campus March 18

SFCC News:

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) will host “Wellness Wednesday 3.18: One Brain, One Day” – a special brain health and brain injury awareness event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 18 in the Jemez Rooms on campus at 6400 Richards Ave.

The event will bring together community partners, health advocates and residents from across Northern New Mexico to learn more about brain injury, prevention and recovery. Partners include the State of New Mexico Governor’s Commission on Disability, Stagecoach Foundation, Presbyterian, SFCC Foundation and Christus St. Vincent. Read More

Los Alamos High School To Honor 2026 Athletic Hall Of Fame Class

LAPS News:

Six new inductees will be joining the sixty Los Alamos High School Athletic Hall of Fame members next month. They will be honored at a brunch banquet at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 11 at Fuller Lodge.

Members of the 9th Hall of Fame class include:

  • Rob Hipwood
  • Carmen Nogar
  • Josh Nogar
  • Gretchen Torres

UNM-LA To Host My Favorite Lecture: Signals In A Sea Of Stars

UNM-LA News:

The UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) My Favorite Lecture Series 2026 is hosting Signals in a Sea of Stars: Finding Exoplanets from 4–5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, in Wallace Hall on the UNM-LA campus. The lecture will be presented by Lorraine Bowman, Ph.D., who is assistant professor of physics at UNM-LA.

Bowman earned a master’s in geophysics and astrophysics in France and an all-but-dissertation Ph.D. in astrophysics at New Mexico Tech. In between degrees, she worked as a geophysicist and as a planetary scientist at JPL. However, her passion lies in outreach and education, leading Read More

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College will host a Broadband Networking/Job Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 24 at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center, 1950 Siringo Road. More than 300 certified Fiber Optic Technician graduates will be invited from across New Mexico to attend. The event is free and open to all New Mexicans interested about careers, education and training for New Mexico’s growing broadband industry.  Read More

UNM-LA Advisory Board Meeting For March Canceled In Absence Of New Business Items

UNM-LA News:

The UNM-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) Advisory Board is not holding its regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, March 9, as there are no actionable items requiring discussion at this time. Executive team reports will be posted on the advisory board webpage.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 13.

The board generally meets on the Monday preceding the second Tuesday of each odd calendar month except in July, unless otherwise directed. The board advises The University of New Mexico Board of Regents on matters pertaining to the Los Alamos campus.
