Los Alamos County invites community members to join a public conversation on Home Energy Innovation & Insights scheduled 5:30-8 p.m. Nov. 18 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. This free event is open to homeowners, builders, and anyone interested in improving home energy efficiency.

DPU Earns National Customer Satisfaction Award

COUNTY News:

On Monday, the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) was presented a Public Power Customer Satisfaction Award for providing excellent service to Los Alamos County.

The recognition came from the American Public Power Association (APPA) at its annual conference in Louisville, Ky.

There are approximately 2,000 public power providers nationwide.

APPA presented the award to 20 utilities that received high marks from customers in:

  • Customer service;
  • Field personnel;
  • Communication;
  • Reliability;
  • Value;
  • Outage response;
  • Innovation; and
  • Overall satisfaction.

White Rock And LANL Power Restored Following 4 Hour Norton Transmission Line Issue

COUNTY News:

All power has been restored to electric customers after an outage affected White Rock and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) due to an issue with the Norton transmission line.

The outage began at 9:25 p.m. Sunday. The Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) reenergized the transmission line around 1:30 a.m. today, which resolved the outage.

DPU Update: Power Should Be Restored To All Customers

The Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities has announced in an update at 8:10 p.m. regarding the outage along San Ildefonso Road, that “power should be restored to all customers”.

The outage was caused by a failed switch near Broadway.
