Mental Health Matters Returns To SALA In September

Mental Health Matters – a collaborative series hosted by the LAPS Prevention Program, Los Alamos JJAB, the Los Alamos County Municipal Court, and the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation – returns to SALA at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays in September for suicide prevention month.

Today Is National Fentanyl Prevention And Awareness Day

Today, Aug. 21, 2023 is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.

DEA seized more than 58.3 million fentanyl-laced fake pills in 2022.

The DEA Laboratory has found that of the fake pills analyzed, six out of ten now contain a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl.

First Born Program To Host Prenatal Retreat Friday Aug. 18

First Born Program News:

The First Born Program of Los Alamos is hosting a prenatal retreat for first time parents to be noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18.

This event will cover information about newborn feeding and sleeping, short demonstrations on infant massage, infant CPR and choking first aid, plus some parent-to-be well being and self care tips.
