As I have done before, I would give Los Alamos County significant credit for its work in providing access to adult vaccines and to COVID testing.

Summer Food Service For New Mexico Children Resumes

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) Family Nutrition Bureau announced Friday the return of the Summer Food Service Program at 570 meal site locations across the state.

Administered by ECECD and funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the program provides nutritious meals at no cost to children and youth ages 18 and younger from June through August, filling a gap when school-based meal programs pause during the summer. County To Hold Local COVID Status Briefing June 23

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County is undergoing a surge of infections of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Omicron variants. As of June 16, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has measured the impact of illness in Los Alamos County as “medium,” although just barely.

County officials announced they will hold a virtual briefing regarding the community’s COVID-19 status, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, to include representatives from Los Alamos Public Schools and retired epidemiologist William Athas, PhD.
