UA: Breast Cancer Therapy Associated With Reduced Risk Of Neurodegenerative Disease In Women

TUCSON, Ariz. — Findings from an investigative study at the Center for Innovation in Brain Science at the University of Arizona Health Sciences have shown that, for women with breast cancer, exposure to hormone-modulating therapies was associated with a significant decrease in the number of women who received a diagnosis of neurodegenerative disease – more specifically Alzheimer’s disease.

Los Alamos County remains at 24 cases today that have tested positive for COVID-19.

New Mexico Health, Environment Departments Issue Air Quality Alert For Los Alamos, Upper/Middle Rio Grande Valley

Air Quality Alert:
 
SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Health and New Mexico Environment Department announce an air quality alert for Los Alamos, Sandoval, Bernalillo, Rio Arriba and Santa Fe counties due to smoke from the Medio Fire
The Medio Fire is burning 2 miles east/southeast of Nambe Reservoir and 5 miles north/northwest of the Santa Fe Ski Basin.
 
The fire spanning 2,300 acres and growing is only 5 percent contained. Communities impacted by smoke include Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Española, Bernalillo, the Albuquerque Metro area, Nambe, Pojoaque and Tesuque Pueblos and surrounding communities.
