Community Input Sought For Development Of Los Alamos County Comprehensive Health Plan

The Los Alamos County Health Council (LACHC), in collaboration with County Social Services, is developing a Los Alamos County Comprehensive Health Plan (CHP).

Three public listening sessions are scheduled in November and early December to collect feedback from the community. Upon adoption of the CHP by the County Council, the CHP will guide the next five to seven years of health, wellness, and social services planning and programming in Los Alamos County.

The Los Alamos High School Girls Soccer Kick for the Cure held Tuesday, Oct. 24 was a successful evening all around. 

Sporting pink socks for the occasion and enduring the rain and cold, the Hilltoppers took the win for both games. The Girls Varsity team were victorious over the Taos Tigers with a 3-0 finish, and the Los Alamos Junior Varsity team defeated Santa Fe High School 4-2.

New Mexico Aging And Long-Term Services Department Launches Novel Caregiver Program For Home Care

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) has launched a novel caregiver health model called “New MexiCare” this October. The program is designed to provide supportive services to participants and their caregivers. 

New MexiCare provides financial support to individuals and their caregivers who do not otherwise qualify for a paid caregiver through Medicare or Medicaid. Qualified participants will be provided with a stipend of up to $12,000, per fiscal year, for their existing caregiver, respite or day care, transportation, and safety monitoring.  Read More
