As a retired teacher from Los Alamos Public Schools, where I taught for 17 years (after teaching for 22 years in CA) and was Union president for 7 years, I want to offer my endorsement for two candidates: Margie Serrato (District 1) and Antonio Jaurigue (District 2). Before I met Antonio Jaurigue, I first learned about him through an article in the Los Alamos Daily Post titled “LAPS Board President Discusses Upcoming Resignation” (April 23, 2024).

Three things stood out to me immediately:

• 1) He chose to resign in order to maintain the integrity of the school board position;
