IRS Announces Third Quarter Interest Rates

PHOENIX  The Internal Revenue Service announced Thursday that interest rates will remain the same for the calendar quarter beginning July 1. 
 
The rates will be:
  • 3 percent for overpayments and 2 percent in the case of a corporation;
  • 0.5 percent for the portion of a corporate overpayment exceeding $10,000;
  • 3 percent for underpayments; and
  • 5 percent for large corporate underpayments.

House Passes De-Escalation Training-Mental Health Services Amendment

WASHINGTON, D.C.  The House voted overwhelmingly, 417-10, to pass an amendment by U.S. Reps. Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01), Earl Blumenauer (OR-03) and Tim Murphy (PA-18) that invests an additional $2 million in crisis-intervention training for state and local law enforcement, along with mental health and substance abuse treatment, and rehabilitation and community re-entry services.
