National Read-a-thon Day At Aspen Saturday Jan. 24

Aspen Elementary School is taking part in National Read-a-thon Day 12-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24.

The goal of National Read-a-thon Day is to encourage individuals and families to spend the afternoon reading and enjoying books.

The Aspen staff will provide a variety of reading activities for elementary students including:

 ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Public Interest Group (NMPIRG) released a new study Wednesday, “The Money Chase: Moving from Big Money Dominance in the 2014 Midterms to a Small Donor Democracy.”

The study, which was written by NMPIRG and Demos, found that the top two vote-getters in the 25 most competitive districts in 2014, got 86 percent of their campaign dollars from individuals giving $200 or more.
