A Los Alamos couple who ran Monday’s Boston Marathon recount their experience and try to make sense of the horrific terrorist attack near the finish line.
 
In 2008, Matt Dreier, from Missouri, and Whitney Spivey, from Virginia, ran the Boston Marathon.
 
They didn’t know each other at the time, and so when they were married in 2010, going back to Boston was on their list of things to do as a couple.

Two Dead, Dozens Wounded in Boston Marathon Explosions

At 2:50 p.m. east coast time today, two explosions about 20 seconds apart killed two people and injured dozens more, according to multiple news reports.

The explosions occurred near the finish line at the Boston Marathon where runners and spectators crowded the area.

Most recent reports are calling these explosions a “terrorist attack” and officials have shut down the air space over Boston.

The National Park Service has closed the Alcove House Site at Bandelier National monument due to concerns over the structural stability of the archeological site and exhibit.

 

Historic masonry repairs dating to the 1930s have developed a network of cracks. In recent days, masonry at this location has become dislodged, raising concern for visitor safety.
