Marie (Schoppy) Schelberg, long time resident of Los Alamos, died October 20, 2023. She was born on March 25, 1925, in Locust Gap, Pennsylvania.

Marie worked in the Locust Gap Post Office starting in 1947 and became Postmaster in 1962. She retired in 1985. Marie then moved to Los Alamos to help care for her sister. In 1989 she married Arthur Schelberg. They spent their remaining years in Los Alamos.

Marie enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Prayer Shawl Group at IHM. She delighted in watching the birds and wildlife that visited her deck.
