Scarlett, with the support of 100 Men Who Care, indulged locals and two visitors from the UK on Wednesday.

The Great American Grump out was started to give people time to look for the positive. Scarlett, who volunteers for C’YA, was paid in both biscuits and carrot chips and received youth and seniors providing FREE hugs and kisses along with resources on self-care and anxiety.

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) seeks input from local governments and animal welfare service providers to help shape the upcoming New Mexico Animal Welfare Program.

Dog Diagnosed With Plague In Santa Fe County

NMDOH News:

SANTA FE — A Santa Fe County dog has been diagnosed with plague – marking the first animal plague case in the state in 2025.

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) reports the dog received veterinary care and has recovered.

“Plague is a bacterial disease in wildlife that pets can be exposed to by eating an infected animal or through bites of infected fleas,” Dr. Erin Phipps said, State Public Health Veterinarian. “Humans can also contract it through flea bites but also risk getting plague through direct contact with infected animals, including rodents, wildlife and pets.”
